The Role: Senior Faculty Administrators are responsible for leading the administration function for the faculty in a way which contributes to the B3 metrics KPI, and most importantly student success. They are responsible for ensuring the administration for the faculty is completed to a high standard with accurate data and records provided for internal and external meetings etc. Senior Faculty Administrators (SFA) directly manage Faculty Administration Officers (FAO) to ensure high quality delivery of clerical services and administrative records across academic levels. They are responsible for ensuring that FAOs provide general faculty administration which results in consistent, accurate and timely responses to student needs and enquiries. Senior Faculty Administrators are responsible for developing a strong administrative relationship with the student retention team, academic services and other relevant stakeholders to support all students within their faculty, including at-risk students.
What the Role Involves:
- Collaborate with the FM, other SFAs, Senior Student Success Tutors and other stakeholders and take direct responsibility for the administration for students with complex needs and for groups of concern.
- To line manage FAOs in their duties (assessment submissions, action logs, withdrawals and authorised absences).
- Check shared data, live trackers and Moodle are updated and accurate by collaboration with level leaders and Associate Deans.
- Complete faculty administration in preparation for missing credits, PAB, Programme Committee, External Examiners & APMR.
- Collaborating with the Head of Provost Office, who has dotted line management (direct or indirect), to administratively support student success.
- To support the FM in reviewing and improving current processes for the FAOs and create development and succession plans for FAO provision.
About You:
- Experience of directing and overseeing administration functions with strong service delivery skills and a student focused approach.
- Bachelor’s degree and proficiency in MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook Mail.
- Experience of working in a widening participation environment.
- Ability to work independently and supervise as part of a team. Effective supervisory and people skills (active listening, excellent written & verbal communication and line management skills) with remarkable organizational and conflict management skills.
- Ability to supervise the handling of sensitive and personal information with tact and confidentiality and use initiative and judgement to resolve line management matters.
- Ability to maintain successful working relationships with appropriate boundaries.
- Ability to be flexible to work days, evenings and weekends as required.
