The role: The Employment and Entrepreneurship Engagement Coach is pivotal in enhancing student participation across campus programmes and initiatives. The role involves fostering connections, driving employment and entrepreneurship attendance, and ensuring students fully benefit from the career opportunities provided through proactive and strategic engagement efforts. The Employment and Entrepreneurship Engagement Coach will act as a key liaison between students and careers services, ensuring all eligible participants are identified and supported effectively. Please note, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this position.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Student Engagement: Proactively enhance career service engagement through strategic communication and outreach initiatives aimed at increasing student attendance and participation. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of student needs to tailor outreach efforts effectively. Conduct follow-up calls, class visits, and one-on-one meetings to build strong relationships with students and encourage engagement.
  • Programme Promotion and Outreach: Design and implement a diverse range of activities to drive awareness and engagement, including proactive calls (telephone and in-person), follow-up communications through email, SMS, or social media, classroom visits and on-campus pop-up events, identifying and reaching out to eligible students, scheduling and managing appointments with students, and promoting job opportunities.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with campus colleagues, including programme coordinators, academic staff, and student services, to deliver impactful engagement initiatives. Support team goals and contribute to achieving engagement and attendance targets.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track engagement metrics, participation rates, and feedback to assess the impact of initiatives. Maintain accurate records of student interactions and programme eligibility. Provide regular reports on progress, challenges, and areas for improvement.

What Experience and Skills are required:

  • Qualifications: Minimum GCSEs grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent). A degree or equivalent qualification is desirable.
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in outreach, engagement, or customer-facing roles. Proven ability to engage with diverse groups and drive participation in programmes or events. Experience in higher education or student support services is advantageous. Experience of client relationship management is desirable.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Proficiency in IT tools, including CRM systems, email, and office software. Analytical mindset to monitor engagement metrics and propose improvements. The ability to work towards and achieve targets in a fast-paced organisation.
  • Personal Attributes: Proactive, energetic, and self-motivated individual with a student-focused approach. A team player who collaborates effectively and shares best practices. Adaptability to work across different campuses and flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
