What They Are Looking For
They are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with circa 6+ years’ experience to join their UK healthcare cost management team. The role sits within a well-established regional business and reports to an Associate Director or Director, with direct responsibility for managing key client commissions. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will lead cost management services across multiple healthcare projects, acting as a trusted commercial advisor to clients while supporting governance, risk management and value outcomes throughout the project lifecycle. This role will suit a technically strong, client-facing quantity surveyor who enjoys working in complex environments, is comfortable taking responsibility, and is motivated by progressing toward Associate Director level within a global consultancy platform.

Responsibilities
- Deliver full pre- and post-contract cost management services on healthcare projects
- Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates and financial reports
- Manage procurement strategies, tender processes and contractor appointments
- Administer contracts, variations and change control procedures
- Lead cost reporting, CVRs and cash flow forecasting
- Identify, manage and mitigate commercial and project risk
- Support value engineering and cost optimisation initiatives
- Manage final account negotiations and commercial close-out
- Act as a key client-facing advisor and stakeholder interface
- Support and mentor junior members of the cost management team
Criteria for the Role
- Approximately 6+ years’ experience in cost consultancy or professional services
- Experience delivering complex construction projects (healthcare preferred)
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Chartered status (MRICS) preferred but not essential
- Strong commercial awareness and technical cost management capability
- Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
- Ability to manage workload autonomously while contributing to a wider team
