What They Are Looking For
They are seeking a Commercial Manager with a strong M&E background to join their London-based team, reporting directly to the Commercial Director. The role will take full commercial responsibility for two to three live projects concurrently, supported by one to two Assistant Quantity Surveyors. The Commercial Manager will lead commercial strategy across their projects, ensuring cost control, risk management and profitability while maintaining close alignment with operational and technical teams.

Responsibilities
- Take full commercial responsibility for two to three concurrent projects
- Set and manage commercial strategy from procurement through to final account
- Lead CVRs, forecasting, cash flow management and financial reporting
- Oversee procurement and commercial management of M&E-heavy subcontract packages
- Manage contract administration, variations and change control processes
- Identify, manage and mitigate commercial and project risk
- Lead final account negotiations with clients and supply chain partners
- Build strong working relationships with project, design and engineering teams
- Line manage one to two Assistant Quantity Surveyors
- Actively mentor and support the development of junior commercial staff
Criteria for the Role
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager within a main contracting environment
- Strong background in M&E-intensive construction projects
- Track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent commercial, contractual and financial management skills
- Experience leading and developing Assistant Quantity Surveyors
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management capability
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline
