You will be embedded within a high-performing commercial team, working across a portfolio of complex construction projects within a fast-paced, professional environment. RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead commercial management across multiple live projects, maximising returns while maintaining strong client and contractor relationships.
- Conduct detailed reviews of tender documentation to identify commercial risk, contractual obligations and potential opportunity.
- Manage and mentor commercial team members, driving best practice in cost control, reporting and programme management.
- Review, approve and actively manage subcontractor and supplier appointments in line with project requirements.
- Administer contracts in accordance with agreed terms, including preparation and management of EOT notifications, claims and compensation events.
- Monitor project performance against budget and programme, identifying variances early and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Prepare accurate, timely reports on cost, progress and commercial status for senior leadership and client stakeholders.
- Define and manage project scope, goals and deliverables in close collaboration with the delivery team.
- Provide contractual advice and support to project teams, ensuring all members understand their obligations and responsibilities.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, ideally recognised by the SCSI and/or RICS (MRICS desirable).
- Minimum 6 years’ post-graduate experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
- Proven track record managing commercial delivery on complex, high-value construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of standard forms of contract including RIAI, JCT, FIDIC and NEC.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and manage risk, opportunity and contractual exposure.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage conflict professionally and constructively.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, PQS teams and key supply chain partners.
