We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOTOR MECHANIC to join our team in a small friendly garage. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems and be able to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of vehicles. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. We are not open on a Saturday or at the weekend; the position is Monday to Friday 8am until 5pm with 30 minutes for lunch.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and machinery to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance service delivery.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Mechanic or in a similar role is ESSENTIAL.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, brakes, electrical systems, and transmissions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • A relevant qualification in automotive technology or mechanical engineering is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • MOT Tester would be an advantage.
  • A valid driving licence is required.
