Gecko Travel Recruitment are delighted to be working with this wonderful Travel Events Company based in Surrey who are looking for a Senior Event Operations Coordinator to join their team on a permanent basis.
As Senior Event Operations Coordinator you will play a key role in supporting a small team of operators responsible for ensuring every operational detail of our events is meticulously planned and executed. This includes booking venues, arranging accommodation and transport, and coordinating logistics across multiple groups.
The ideal candidate is someone who can confidently take ownership of an event, ensuring booking details are accurate, customer service is top-notch, and the event is delivered successfully.
The role:
- Collaborating with colleagues and clients to deliver outstanding events
- Taking responsibility for an event and ensuring tasks delegated across the team are well-planned, coordinated, and executed efficiently
- Mentoring junior team members and supporting the Operations Manager
- Forming strong supplier relationships to aid in a smooth operational process
- Ensuring all tour documentation and supporting materials are completed accurately, to a high standard, and within required deadlines.
- Taking a leading role in on-the-ground event delivery, with regular travel to events to work directly with groups and suppliers in person
You will have:
- Previous experience in a similar event management role ideally within the travel industry
- Proven experience of providing exceptional customer service
- Ability to resolve problems and lead a team
- Outstanding customer service experience skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel
