GECC UK (Global Education and Career Consultant) provides student admission services and academic guidance for UK educational institutions, along with immigration and migration advisory services to major global destinations including the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, and Australia. The organization specializes in one-to-one application processing, supporting learners from initial inquiry through successful enrollment and visa approval. GECC UK offers comprehensive pre- and post-admission support, helping learners prepare documentation and adjust to their chosen institutions. Its education and immigration consultants are experienced, work with trusted university partners, and are OISC registered, ensuring compliant and reliable guidance throughout the application process.

The Business Support Manager will oversee the daily operations of GECC’s office and coordinate its administration, admissions, student recruitment, sales and business-support activities. The role is responsible for maintaining efficient systems, supervising staff, monitoring financial and operational performance, and ensuring that student recruitment and admissions activities comply with company policies and partner university requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Office Operations
    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the office.
    • Develop and monitor effective administrative procedures and workflows.
    • Allocate duties, supervise workloads and ensure deadlines are met.
    • Resolve operational issues and report significant concerns to the Managing Director.
  • Administration and Record Management
    • Oversee student databases, spreadsheets, CRM/SRM systems and office records.
    • Ensure that student, application, financial and operational information is accurate and regularly updated.
    • Maintain appropriate confidentiality and data protection standards.
    • Produce weekly and monthly operational reports.
  • Admissions Management
    • Manage the admissions team and oversee the student application process.
    • Monitor applications from initial assessment through to offer, admission and enrolment.
    • Ensure that student documents and applications are accurate and complete before submission.
    • Ensure compliance with the admissions policies and requirements of partner universities and colleges.
    • Monitor application progress and resolve delays or outstanding actions.
  • Sales and Lead Conversion
    • Manage the sales and student recruitment teams.
    • Set and monitor targets for calls, appointments, applications, conversions and enrolments.
    • Ensure that leads are contacted and followed up within agreed timescales.
    • Review the sales pipeline and introduce corrective measures where performance is below target.
    • Coordinate recruitment campaigns for specific institutions, courses, intakes and student markets.
  • Business Development
    • Arrange online and face-to-face meetings with prospective students, parents, education agents and B2B and B2C clients.
    • Support the development of relationships with recruitment agents, referral partners and institutions.
    • Identify business opportunities within relevant local and international student markets.
    • Work with the marketing team to generate appropriate and high-quality leads.
    • Represent GECC professionally at meetings, presentations, seminars and recruitment events.
  • Financial Administration
    • Maintain accurate records of office expenditure, income and operational costs.
    • Assist with the preparation and monitoring of office and departmental budgets.
    • Monitor financial performance against agreed business targets.
    • Coordinate with the finance team regarding invoices, payments, commissions and outstanding balances.
    • Report significant budget variances or financial concerns to management.
  • Team Management
    • Supervise and support employees across admissions, sales, marketing and administration.
    • Set clear responsibilities, targets and performance expectations.
    • Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
    • Provide training, coaching and constructive feedback.
    • Support staff recruitment, induction, attendance monitoring and workforce planning.
    • Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability and ethical working practices.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance
    • Ensure that staff follow GECC’s policies, procedures and service standards.
    • Maintain compliance with partner university and college requirements.
    • Ensure that information provided to students and partners is accurate and not misleading.
    • Conduct file checks and support internal quality reviews.
    • Identify and report operational, compliance or reputational risks.
  • Performance Reporting
    • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports.
    • Monitor team performance against agreed key performance indicators.
    • Analyse recruitment data to identify problems, trends and opportunities.
    • Present operational updates and recommended actions to senior management.
    • Follow up with responsible team members to ensure agreed actions are completed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Education or a related subject.
    • Previous experience in office management, business operations, administration or a similar supervisory role.
    • Experience managing employees, workloads and performance targets.
    • Experience maintaining databases, spreadsheets and management reports.
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Desirable
    • Experience in student recruitment, higher education, admissions or education consultancy.
    • Experience working with universities, colleges, education agents or international students.
    • Knowledge of student application, admissions and enrolment processes.
    • Experience monitoring budgets, expenditure and financial records.
    • A postgraduate or professional qualification in management or a related field.
