Days of Work: Monday to Friday

Location: Hybrid – Barrow Upon Soar, Glenfield and remote working.

The Role

To manage the HR team and support with the creation & delivery of Geary’s HR Strategy/People Plan. To be a trusted partner for Managers and other senior leaders in maximising the potential of the business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • People Strategy
    • Support the Head of People with the creation and delivery of the People Plan including: Retention, Reward, Culture, L&D.
    • Support with HR strategy within Geary’s, ensuring it is at the heart of everything we do and is consistent across all areas of the business.
    • Support the Head of People with projects, engagement and strategic planning.
    • Manage, advise and support in change processes.
    • Create a culture to ensure that Geary’s is an employer of choice.
  • Employee Relations
    • Support and advise Senior managers and managers with employee relations issues (including grievance, disciplinary, absence and performance management).
    • Support senior managers on succession planning, talent management & headcount requirements to ensure we get the best from our teams.
    • Provide guidance and support to the HR Team on all aspects of employment law and employee relations issues.
  • Recruitment
    • Support managers with reviewing, creating and updating job descriptions.
    • Manage the relationship with the recruitment team.
    • Attend interviews as required at Manager level and support managers with their recruitment decisions.
    • Work with the Recruitment Manager and key stakeholders to create a streamlined attraction and onboarding process.
  • Governance
    • Support line managers in all stages of employee life cycle.
    • Support the HR Team with the Everyday HR system.
    • Create and report on HR KPIs and provide ad hoc statistics and data when required.
    • Create, monitor and update HR policies and processes, in line with legislation.
    • Train and support line management in all aspects of HR practice including people management, absence management, disciplinary and grievance processes.
    • Keep abreast of changing and updates to employment legislation.
  • Ethical
    • Co-ordinate the preparation process for ethical audits, including SMETA.
    • Monitor and update SEDEX membership and SAQ information.

Skills and Experience

  • CIPD Level 5 or above
  • In-depth knowledge of employment legislation
  • Knowledge of working in a senior position within a fast-moving environment, ideally within manufacturing.
