The Role
We’re looking for a practical, hands-on person to help keep our Industrial Bakeries and Offices in great condition. You’ll be part of a team that ensures everything is working well and safe across several sites. Your responsibilities will include:
- Perform water temperature checks and flushing (L8 checks) and keep records.
- Carry out weekly fire alarm check.
- Inspect and repair doors, walls, floors and windows.
- Test emergency lighting and record the results.
- General caretaking.
- Support engineering team to ensure smooth running of Bakery.
- Call contractors when necessary and supervise when onsite.
- Do basic carpentry: fix cabinets, hang doors, install shelves, repair windows.
- Handle minor plumbing jobs: fix leaks, unblock pipes, replace pumps and fixtures.
- Do small electrical repairs: lights, sockets, and general power issues.
- Help with decorating: painting, plastering, fixing walls and floors.
- Make sure buildings are well-maintained and clean—either by doing the work yourself or helping manage contractors.
- Promote energy-saving and recycling across the buildings.

About You

- City & Guilds 2393 (Part P electrical).
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating.
- City & Guilds Painting & Decorating 6707.
- City & Guilds 2382 Electrical Installation. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- A valid driving licence is required. You may be required to work from Glenfield offices from time to time.
