A leading Tier 1 contractor delivering AMP8 projects across West Sussex is looking for a MEICA Commissioning Engineer to support the successful delivery of clean and wastewater schemes across the region. This role would suit someone who enjoys being involved in the full commissioning process — from planning and testing through to fault finding, optimisation, and final handover. You’ll be working closely with delivery, operations, MEICA, and site teams to make sure projects are commissioned safely, efficiently, and correctly the first time.

The Role

  • Supporting commissioning activities across a portfolio of water infrastructure projects, helping drive smooth integration between design, installation, and operational handover.
  • This is a hands-on role where strong technical understanding and site coordination are key.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting commissioning delivery across clean and wastewater projects
  • Assisting with commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation
  • Coordinating testing, inspection, and commissioning activities on site
  • Working closely with MEICA, civils, and operational teams
  • Supporting fault finding and system optimisation during commissioning phases
  • Ensuring all commissioning activities are completed safely and in line with programme
  • Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives
  • Supporting project handover and completion processes

  • You may currently be working as a: Commissioning Engineer, MEICA Engineer, Electrical Commissioning Engineer, ICA Engineer, Site Engineer with commissioning exposure
  • Ideal Experience:
  • Water sector experience preferred (clean or wastewater)
  • Mechanical, Electrical, or ICA background
  • Understanding of commissioning processes and site delivery
  • Experience working alongside operational and construction teams
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • CSCS / SMSTS beneficial
  • Full UK driving licence
