Project Manager – Process / Water Engineering
Location: Snodland / South East England Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 + Package Employment Type: Permanent Sector: Water, Wastewater, Process Engineering & MEICA
Gearing Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join an established process engineering contractor, delivering projects across the South East water sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with a background in water, wastewater, process engineering or MEICA to take responsibility for the successful delivery of capital projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
You’ll work across a varied portfolio of process-led schemes, coordinating design, engineering, commercial, construction, commissioning and supply chain teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the delivery of allocated water and wastewater projects, managing programme, cost, quality, risk, health and safety and client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
You’ll be working closely with internal teams, site personnel, designers, subcontractors and client stakeholders, ensuring that technical, commercial and operational interfaces are effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of water, wastewater and process/MEICA projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
- Take ownership of programme, budget, quality, health & safety, risk and client communication across allocated projects.
- Coordinate MEICA, process, civil, commissioning and supply chain interfaces to ensure projects remain on track.
- Work closely with design, commercial, planning and construction teams to manage procurement, change, risk and project reporting.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, site teams and engineering resources to ensure successful project delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client-side project, engineering and operational stakeholders.
- Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with CDM, RAMS, permits, quality requirements and company/project governance.
- Support commercial teams with the management of variations, change, risk and contractual matters.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager who can demonstrate
- Proven experience delivering projects within water, wastewater, utilities, process engineering or a similar environment.
- A strong understanding of MEICA and the ability to manage interfaces between mechanical, electrical, ICA, process and civil disciplines.
- Experience delivering capital projects such as water/wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, process upgrades or similar infrastructure schemes.
- Good knowledge of NEC contracts, with the ability to work effectively alongside commercial teams.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, suppliers and client stakeholders.
- Strong project management, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- SMSTS, CSCS and a relevant engineering/construction qualification would be advantageous.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South East.
