The Role
Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will assist with the commercial management of a large civil engineering project delivered under the NEC form of contract.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting with subcontractor procurement and management
- Preparing and reviewing payment applications and valuations
- Supporting cost reporting and forecasting activities
- Assisting with change management and compensation events under NEC contracts
- Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Supporting the preparation of monthly commercial reports
- Liaising with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors
- Maintaining accurate records and commercial documentation
Requirements
- Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Previous experience within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, highways, rail or water sectors
- Understanding of NEC contracts and commercial processes
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard commercial reporting systems
- Ambitious, proactive and keen to develop a long-term career within commercial management
