This is one of those rare commissioning roles where you’re trusted to deliver, not micromanaged. You’ll be working on clean water treatment and network upgrade projects within the Affinity Water region, helping to bring essential infrastructure to life across the region. If you like getting hands-on with complex systems, solving problems under pressure, and seeing results that make a real impact on communities, this one’s worth reading.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of the full commissioning process — from off-site testing to integration into live water assets. Reporting to a Commissioning Manager who understands the challenges first-hand, you’ll coordinate on-site activities, ensure safety, and make sure every system is delivered to spec and on time.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day commissioning activities and support delivery teams on site
  • Produce accurate Commissioning Completion Reports and manage supporting documentation
  • Oversee FATs, SATs and technical handovers into operation
  • Identify risks early and keep delivery on track

What You’ll Need

  • Proven experience commissioning MEICA systems, ideally within clean water projects
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical and ICA interfaces
  • CSCS or SMSTS certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
  • Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK

Why It’s Worth It

You’ll be joining a contractor that genuinely values commissioning as a core delivery function, not an afterthought. The projects are long-term, the budgets are secure, and the AMP8 pipeline across the Affinity Water framework is already underway.
