GRS are currently recruiting for a Workshop Manager on behalf of a rapidly growing engineering business based in Kent. Our client is continuing to expand and is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to oversee day-to-day workshop operations and support the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.

The Role

As Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for managing workshop activities, coordinating workloads, supervising workshop personnel and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. This position would suit someone with a strong engineering background who is comfortable leading teams and managing workshop-based operations. Experience working with electrical control panels, control systems or industrial electrical equipment would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the workshop.
  • Plan and coordinate workloads to meet project deadlines.
  • Supervise workshop staff and maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
  • Liaise with internal departments to support project delivery.
  • Monitor quality standards and ensure works are completed to specification.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across workshop operations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor or similar leadership role.
  • Strong engineering background.
  • Ability to manage and motivate workshop teams.
  • Good organisational and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of control panels, control systems or industrial electrical equipment would be highly desirable.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Package

  • Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
  • Core hours: 07:00 – 15:30.
  • Option to work overtime.
