A leading Tier 1 contractor delivering major water and wastewater projects on behalf of United Utilities is looking for Senior Quantity Surveyors to join their commercial team. Working across the full project lifecycle, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from tender award through to final account, ensuring successful financial delivery while supporting project teams, clients, and the wider supply chain. Duties for Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Manage the commercial delivery of projects from contract award through to final account
  • Prepare and agree valuations, variations, and measurements
  • Procure and manage subcontract packages, including tender enquiries and negotiations
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts, cash flow, and commercial performance
  • Identify and manage commercial risks, opportunities, and change control
  • Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and commercial reporting
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams
  • Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and commercial procedures
  • Mentor and support Assistant and Quantity Surveyors within the commercial team

Qualifications & Experience for Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, utilities, infrastructure, or engineering
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
  • Good commercial awareness and cost management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience within the water industry is advantageous but not essential
