We're supporting a major programme of upgrade and expansion works within a live water/wastewater treatment environment. The project involves significant improvements to pumping infrastructure, treatment processes, sludge handling, and associated electrical and control systems.

As part of this, we're looking to engage an experienced Electrical Authorised Person (AP) to take responsibility for safe systems of work, LV/HV operations, and electrical isolation management across a complex, multi‑disciplinary site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Electrical Authorised Person (AP) for LV (and HV where applicable), ensuring compliance with site‑specific safe systems of work and permit procedures.
  • Carry out and manage electrical isolations, switching operations, and issue/receipt of Permits to Work (PTW) in line with DSR and client standards.
  • Review and approve RAMS for electrical works, ensuring all activities are carried out safely within a live treatment environment.
  • Coordinate electrical works across multiple contractors, ensuring safe sequencing and minimal disruption to operational assets.
  • Provide technical oversight on installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems including MCCs, control panels, pumps, and process equipment.
  • Support commissioning activities including pre‑energisation checks, functional testing, and system handover.
  • Liaise closely with operations teams to plan outages, shutdowns, and tie‑ins to existing infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g. BS 7671, WIMES, client specs) and maintain high levels of QA/QC documentation.
  • Assist with fault finding, inspection, and verification of electrical installations.
  • Maintain accurate records of isolations, switching logs, and permits.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture.
