An excellent opportunity for a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative / Picker Packer to join our Gear4music night shift team at our Clifton Moor distribution centre in York on a fixed-term contract, ensuring smooth and efficient order processing during our busy festive period.
As part of our Seasonal Recruitment Campaign, we have a number of available positions within our Warehouse Team and are looking to hire several new team members to boost numbers.
SALARY: £15.00 per Hour (Night Rate) / £12.21 per Hour (Day Rate, Where Applicable) + Benefits
LOCATION: York, North Yorkshire
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Fixed Term Contract
WORKING HOURS: 22:30 to 07:00, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
As a Warehouse Operative / Picker Packer you will play a key role in ensuring products are accurately picked, packed, and dispatched to customers on time, maintaining Gear4music’s high standards for efficiency and accuracy. This role offers full training, guaranteed weekly hours, and a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in logistics, distribution, and stock control with one of the UK’s leading music retailers.
DUTIES
- Receiving and Storing Stock: Handle incoming goods and maintain accurate records
- Picking and Packing Orders: Prepare customer orders efficiently and accurately
- Labelling and Dispatching: Ensure all products are clearly labelled and ready for shipment
- Stock Control: Maintain organised stock levels and report discrepancies
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to meet daily targets
- Health and Safety: Follow all warehouse safety procedures and guidelines
- Equipment Use: Operate scanners, tablets, and warehouse systems confidently
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Comfortable using tablets or handheld devices for order processing
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills
- Physically fit and able to manage manual handling tasks
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
