Our warehouse and distribution sites play a vital role in supporting our global customers and keeping our operations running safely and efficiently is critical to our success. We're looking for a Warehouse Maintenance Engineer to join our new distribution site based in Sherburn-in-Elmet, supporting the maintenance, reliability and safety of our warehouse equipment and facilities.
The Role
As a Warehouse Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving a wide range of warehouse systems and equipment to ensure minimal downtime and safe operation. You'll work closely with Operations and Health & Safety teams to support a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This is a practical role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, fault-finding and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on warehouse equipment and facilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime
- Support the maintenance of automated systems including conveyor systems, goods to person retrieval systems, and packing systems.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety requirements and safe systems of work
- Support contractor management and oversee third-party maintenance activities where required
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs
- Identify opportunities for equipment improvements and preventative maintenance
- Support site compliance with statutory inspections and safety checks
- Respond to breakdowns in a timely and effective manner
About You
You'll be a practical, reliable engineer who's comfortable working in a busy warehouse or industrial environment and understands the importance of safety, quality and teamwork.
Essential:
- Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a warehouse, distribution or industrial environment
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements in an operational setting
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Desirable:
- Mechanical or electrical engineering qualification
- Experience with conveyors, automation or warehouse systems
- Multi-skilled (mechanical and electrical) background
- CompTIA A+ entry level IT certification
- Experience working with CMMS systems
- IPAF licence and PASMA qualification
