Who We Are

Gear4music, a leading retailer of musical instruments and equipment, is looking for a reliable, enthusiastic part-time Showroom Assistant to join our showroom team in Clifton Moor, York.

Your role will be to greet customers, help them find what they need, and ensure a positive experience in store.

This is a part-time position (14.5 hours per week). You will be required to work Saturdays (9.45am-4.45pm) and one weekday (9am-5.30pm). There is also potential for extra hours to cover holidays as needed.

Our ideal applicant can quickly absorb product knowledge. The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training but must work well in a fast-paced environment and enjoy teamwork. If you love a challenge and have good knowledge of musical instruments, we look forward to your CV!

What You Will Do

• Welcome customers into the showroom and assist them in finding products.
• Provide advice on instruments, mainly guitars, and demonstrate musical equipment.
• Manage stock levels and presentation.
• Maintain a well-stocked and attractive showroom.
• Resolve customer service issues professionally and efficiently.
• Assist customers with purchases outside of your specialist area when needed.

• Confident and friendly with customers and colleagues.
• Good knowledge of musical instruments and equipment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer literate (MS-Office, Outlook, Internet).
• Technical understanding of musical instruments.
• Experience in product presentation and attention to detail.
• Retail or customer service experience is a plus.
