We’re looking for Warehouse Automation Operatives to join our brand‑new automated Distribution Centre in Sherburn‑in‑Elmet. Our new Sherburn Distribution Centre represents the next step in that journey.

Role: As a Warehouse Automation Operative you’ll join the founding team of our brand‑new automated distribution centre, shaping the future of our operation from day one. Working with industry‑leading automation technology, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring customer orders move safely, accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor automated warehouse equipment and systems
  • Receive, check and process incoming deliveries
  • Decant products into the automated storage system ready for customer orders
  • Support the movement of products through the automated storage and retrieval systems
  • Pick, pack and prepare orders using the latest warehouse technology
  • Use handheld technology, warehouse management systems and digital tools to complete daily tasks
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and report operational issues where appropriate
  • Perform manual handling activities safely in line with training and procedures
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, housekeeping and organisation throughout the warehouse
  • Work collaboratively across the operation to ensure customers receive their orders on time

Shift Pattern: We are a 7‑day operation with service hours between 06:00 and 23:00. This role works on a weekly rotating shift pattern, covering 5 days out of 7 (with days off during the week when weekend shifts are worked).

  • The ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Confidence using computers, handheld devices and digital systems
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A strong sense of ownership and pride in the quality of your work
  • The ability to work safely in a physically active role, including manual handling
  • Good literacy, numeracy and basic IT skills

Previous warehouse or logistics experience is beneficial but not essential. If you have the right attitude and a willingness to learn, we’ll provide the training and support you need to succeed.
