Be part of an exciting new chapter from day one as we launch our new automated distribution centre! This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Warehouse Manager to join a brand-new operation. You will play a key role in establishing processes, building and developing high-performing teams, and supporting the implementation of advanced warehouse automation technology. Reporting to the Senior Warehouse Manager, you'll support warehouse teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high-performing operations while maintaining excellent service standards.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Build a positive, engaged, and high-performing team culture.
- Support shift performance against key operational KPIs.
- Plan labour and allocate resources effectively.
- Support the implementation and operation of automation technologies.
- Work closely with Engineering and Systems teams to resolve operational issues.
- Promote a strong safety-first culture.
About you:
- Experience in a warehouse leadership role.
- Strong people management and coaching skills.
- Experience managing operational KPIs and performance targets.
- Good knowledge of warehouse health and safety.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- A hands-on, collaborative leadership style.
We’d also love to hear from ambitious Warehouse Team Leaders and Supervisors looking to take the next step into management. Experience in an automated warehouse environment. Exposure to technologies such as AutoStore, conveyors, robotics, or automated packing solutions. Experience in e-commerce, retail fulfilment, or high-volume operations.
Shift pattern:
This is a rotating weekly shift pattern covering 5 days out of 7:
- Early shift: Typically 08:00–16:30 (Mon–Fri), occasional 06:00–14:30 starts, Saturday: 09:00–17:30
- Late shift: 14:30–23:00 (Mon–Fri), Sunday: 09:00–17:30
Additional overtime may be required during peak trading periods (October–December).
