About The Role

This is a great opportunity to begin your career enhancing our security systems with industry best practice and innovative solutions. As a Security Engineer (Junior) in our Digital Services Security Team, reporting to the Information Security Manager, you will:
- Analyse threat intelligence from various sources and apply this to knowledge of our systems to advise on appropriate mitigation steps.
- Investigate and research new security trends to improve our threat intelligence, detection mechanisms and protection capabilities.
- Collaborate on projects within the security team and with other internal teams to assist in maintaining the highest levels of security.
- Attend annual security conferences to gain further industry insight on security best practice.
- Bring fresh ideas from your own experience to suggest ways to improve our security posture.
We’re ideally looking for someone to work from our Cambridge office so you’ll need to live within commuting distance of the office. As this is a hybrid working role you will need to spend at least two days in the office each week although this may be more to start with, as you’re learning the role.
About You
You should have an HND or undergraduate degree in cyber security, networking or a similar field, and keen to find the right organisation to learn from and gain further experience in the security field. Ideally, you will have worked as an intern or in a junior security related role for up to 1 year, to gain initial experience of applying security analysis and engineering in the real-world.
