Responsibilities / Tasks
- This is a field-based role covering the UK & Ireland, forming part of the existing Service Sales team and reporting directly to the Service Director.
- Strategic & Operational Contribution: Support the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans for the UK service organisation, specifically focused on both Bakery (BAK) and Extruded Food Technologies (EFT) segments. Actively contribute through the promotion of field services, repairs, spare parts, technical audits, training, and service projects.
- Sales & Business Development: Drive service sales within the assigned regional territory, including responsibility for all aspects of EFT & BAK service sales performance. Generate and process service RFQs in line with departmental procedures. Identify and pursue new business opportunities for service products, balancing opportunity with risk assessment. Promote the GEA service brand by building strong customer relationships and fostering trust.
- Account & Stakeholder Management: Ensure customer satisfaction by aligning service delivery with business objectives. Actively manage key accounts and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Provide support to internal service teams to ensure seamless enquiry handling and order execution.
- Financial & Commercial Oversight: Own the regional service sales budget, maintaining awareness of pricing and margin targets as defined by service management for BAK/EFT segment. Present monthly sales performance reports, including order intake, pipeline opportunities, risk assessment, and competitor insights. Negotiate terms, pricing for service/spare parts offers, mods/upgrades, SLAs with clients, address objections and concerns to move deals forward and win orders. Service sales growth by researching and analysing Irish market trends to find potential clients within existing i-base, generate leads through regular site visits, face to face and phone conversations identifying sales opportunities. Preparation of regular sales reports for management.
- Technical Expertise & Training: Engage in ongoing technical training to build in-depth knowledge of GEA's service and new machine product offerings. Provide expert technical support and contribute to cross-selling initiatives for services and new equipment.
- CRM & Installed Base Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and opportunity data within the CRM system. Update and manage I-BASE records, ensuring visibility of installed equipment and its service history.
- Marketing & Events: Participate in marketing initiatives and trade fairs as required to support brand and service promotion.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaboration with Other Departments by working closely with departments like New Equipment, sales Marketing, Credit Control and Finance to ensure operations align with business objectives. Liaison Role by acting as a liaison between the regional country service team and global country representatives to ensure that local needs and concerns are communicated effectively. Collaboration with Internal Service Sales, Technical Support, Field Service and NE Projects to ensure the delivery of service orders ensuring customer satisfaction.
Your Profile / Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Extrusion & Bakery food technology systems.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical sales - ideally within food processing, bakery, or capital equipment environments.
- Demonstrated ability to drive service revenue growth, including spare parts, repairs, upgrades, and long-term service agreements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP tools (e.g., Salesforce, SAP or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Effective planning, negotiation, and networking skills.
- Self-confidence, people management skills, and a professional, approachable demeanour.
- Language: Fluent English and Italian (advantageous).
