We are expanding our Liquid and Powders Division in Warrington and are looking for a Service Sales Business Development Manager (BDM).
This is a strategic, client-facing role with responsibility for driving growth across service offerings and capital projects, primarily in the Diary, Food & Beverage sector. You will act as the link between customers and technical teams, providing tailored solutions that improve performance, strengthen efficiency, and create long-term partnerships.
The role reports to the Director of Service and involves a mix of office-based and on-site customer engagement.
Business Development & Sales Growth
Identify and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts.
Build and manage a strong sales pipeline aligned with GEA’s growth strategy.
Monitor market trends, competitors, and customer needs to shape sales initiatives.
Client Engagement & Solutions
Develop expertise in GEA’s service portfolio (process optimisation, automation, spare parts, service contracts).
Work closely with clients to understand challenges and deliver tailored engineering solutions.
Prepare proposals, negotiate terms, and present technical solutions effectively.
Sales Strategy & Performance
Manage the full sales cycle from strategy to deal closure.
Deliver against sales budgets and maintain margin growth.
Use CRM/ERP tools (SAP) to manage sales activities and reporting.
Drive improvements in sales processes and performance.
Build strong, lasting customer relationships and support retention.
Ensure smooth handover from sales to execution by working closely with technical teams.
Strategic Contribution & Innovation
Support GEA’s mission of sustainable growth by contributing to planning and strategy.
Embrace digital tools and innovative approaches to reach new customers.
Collaborate with global teams to align local business development with international goals.
Degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or equivalent experience.
Proven track record in B2B sales, business development, or technical sales (ideally in capital equipment, consultancy, Food & Beverage / Process Engineering).
Strong knowledge of engineering services (service contracts, spare parts, optimisation, automation).
Skilled in sales strategy, account management, and negotiation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; CRM/ERP (SAP) experience is a strong plus.
Excellent communication and presentation skills across different cultures.
Resilient, proactive, and strategic thinker with focus on innovation and long-term growth.
