Responsibilities
- Strategic & Operational Contribution: Support the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans for the UK service organisation, focusing specifically on the Bakery (BAK) and Extruded Food Technologies (EFT) segments. Actively contribute through the promotion of field services, repairs, spare parts, technical audits, training and service projects.
- Sales & Business Development: Drive service sales within the assigned regional territory across BAK and EFT, generate and process service RFQs, identify and pursue new business opportunities, and promote the GEA service brand by building strong customer relationships.
- Account & Stakeholder Management: Ensure customer satisfaction by aligning service delivery with business objectives, manage key accounts, and support internal service teams for seamless enquiry handling and order execution.
- Financial & Commercial Oversight: Own the regional service sales budget, monitor pricing and margin targets, present monthly sales performance reports, negotiate terms, pricing and SLAs, and address objections to move deals forward. Research and analyse Irish market trends to identify potential clients, generate leads through site visits, face‑to‑face and phone conversations, and prepare regular sales reports for management.
- Technical Expertise & Training: Engage in ongoing technical training, provide expert support, and contribute to cross‑selling initiatives for services and new equipment.
- CRM & Installed Base Management: Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date customer and opportunity data within the CRM system and manage I‑BASE records.
- Marketing & Events: Participate in marketing initiatives and trade fairs as required to support brand and service promotion.
- Cross‑Functional Coordination: Collaborate with departments such as New Equipment, Sales Marketing, Credit Control and Finance to ensure operations align with business objectives; act as liaison between regional and global service teams. Coordinate with Internal Service Sales, Technical Support, Field Service and NE Projects to ensure delivery of service orders and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of extrusion and bakery food technology systems.
- Minimum two years of experience in technical sales, ideally within food processing, bakery or capital equipment environments.
- Demonstrated ability to drive service revenue growth, including spare parts, repairs, upgrades and long‑term service agreements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP tools (e.g., Salesforce, SAP or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Effective planning, negotiation and networking skills.
- Self‑confidence, people‑management skills, and a professional, approachable demeanour.
- Fluent in English; Italian is advantageous.
