Responsibilities

  • Join a strong team with engineers based in Glasgow and travel to sites in the Glasgow Area and the Northeast, including interactions with the Manchester & Leeds Service Branches.
  • Enroll in a 4-year apprenticeship program to develop as an Industrial Refrigeration Field Service Engineer working across a range of customer sites and manufacturing processes.
  • Spend the initial period shadowing qualified engineers, learning the tools, and driving personal progress and development.
  • Participate in an apprenticeship program focused on developing competencies as a Industrial Refrigeration Engineer.
  • As the program progresses, work on site to complete planned maintenance, handle breakdowns, and lead service tasks.
  • Move toward the final years of the program with standby coverage and appropriate support.
  • Gain exposure to office aspects of service operations, including quoting, problem solving, planning, and prioritising tasks by severity.
  • Key Learning Areas
  • Level 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
  • Hands-on experience from day 1 with experienced Industrial Refrigeration Engineers
  • Development of mechanical and electrical controls understanding, including troubleshooting and repair
  • Soft skills development while engaging with customers from diverse backgrounds and priorities
  • Understanding manufacturing processes and health & safety in the workspace

Qualifications / Profile

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • 3 GCSEs (C and above) in Maths, English & Science or equivalent
  • Keen interest in engineering and mechanical subjects
  • Inquisitive mindset
  • Soft skills: confident in asking questions
  • Punctual, motivated & proactive; team player
