The production support Engineer will support the build of the manufacturing of HVDC Products resolving issues to ensure targets are met. Monitoring line workflow and timings to ensure efficiency is maintained and raising concerns with Engineering and quality departments when required. Fully supporting the Manufacturing Manager where required.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of manufacturing line product build.
  • First line of support for queries from the line.
  • Liaising with Industrialisation, Engineering and Quality to support manufacturing.
  • Responsible for line output.
  • Co-ordination of build requirements.
  • Line flow and takt time.
  • Kanban exposure and understanding.
  • Monitoring and arranging of calibration and servicing of equipment as required.

The Person

The candidate will have a good level of general education and communication skills and will have previously worked in a manufacturing environment supporting a production line. In addition to relevant experience, an enquiring mind and desire to learn new skills are essential qualities.

Skills and Experience Preferred:

  • Lean experience.
  • Manufacturing experience on a flow line.
  • Mechanical engineering experience desirable.
  • Additional skills (beneficial but not critical): Advanced manufacturing Methods and subsequent implementation, LEAN and 5S.
  • Knowledge of business principles, strategy and subsequent interface across all functions.

Specific Abilities:

  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivating, proactive and results driven approach.
  • Problem-solving and root cause identification skills.
  • Able to work to deadlines with good quality.
  • Proficient in the English language, written and verbal. Other languages are an advantage.
  • Fully conversant with ISO 9001: 2000 and ISO 14001 and preferably 18001.
