Job Description Summary

Become part of a winning team at our UK Centre of Excellence and a Government strategic facility.

GE Vernova’s Power Conversion & Storage business provides electrification systems that are critical to customers’ power and energy needs for their high performance applications.

Responsibilities

In this role you will focus on:

  • Support in the development and maintenance of a 3D asset library optimized for XR, including modeling, animation, UV mapping, and interactive components for Unity and Unreal Engine.
  • Prepare both low- and high-poly 3D assets derived from complex CAD models, tailored for performance.
  • Support cross‑functional collaboration with sales, marketing, engineering, and product teams to gather requirements and assist in delivering immersive XR solutions.
  • Optimize 3D assets to ensure seamless performance and compatibility across different XR hardware.
  • Conduct rigorous testing, debugging, and iterative refinements to deliver high‑quality, stable XR applications.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support customer engagements and represent the company at trade shows.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HND or higher degree in 3D Art, Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field.
  • Experience in Unity rendering pipelines (URP, HDRP, SRP), lighting workflows, Shader Graph, and VFX Graph.
  • Experience with XR devices and technologies, such as VR, AR, and MR platforms (Meta Quest, HTC Vive).
  • Proficiency in UV Mapping and PBR material workflows, utilizing tools such as Adobe Substance Painter, Illustrator, or Photoshop.
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling, animation, and rendering using industry‑standard software, such as Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to adapt to new technologies and workflows efficiently.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility and a valid passport to meet travel requirements.
  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK.

  • Industry Experience: Prior experience working on XR applications for industrial use cases (Energy, automotive, power).
  • Experience with Simulation & Training: Previous work on simulation‑based training applications, especially in industrial or technical settings.
  • Familiarity with 3d asset optimization software and workflows (PIXYZ).
  • Experience in asset preparation using CAD‑focused applications (CREO, AutoCAD).
  • Knowledge of C# and C++ object‑oriented programming.
