As PTR Lead Engineer (m/w/d), you are responsible for leading the design and development of power transformers and shunt reactors, ensuring that all work adheres to internal and international standards such as ISO, IEC, and IEEE. You will apply advanced tools including FEA, DFMEA, and root cause analysis (RCA) to optimize designs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high-quality, reliable solutions. The role involves collaboration with the Technology Team, occasional travel, and effective communication in English.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Product development of Medium and Large Power Transformers as well as Shunt reactors.
  • Lead and participate on design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address design issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Using specialized FEA software to analyse magnetic circuits, electro-magnetic fields, insulation strength, thermal design and verification of electrical adequacy of products.
  • Apply DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to identify potential failure modes and improve design robustness.
  • Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry standards and best practices, including but not limited to ISO, IEC, IEEE.
  • Supporting and promoting PTR initiatives to improve electrical design quality, reliability, and robustness.
  • Conduct failure analysis using RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to resolve design-related issues effectively.
  • Regularly travel to manufacturing units, conferences, and customers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in transformer development and design.
  • Strong knowledge of FEA tools, particularly for electromagnetic analysis, and experience with design failure analysis tools (DFMEA, RCA).
  • Familiarity with internal and international standards (ISO, IEC, IEEE) and industry best practices in transformer design.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools and the ability to develop and optimize designs according to customer requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and interact with clients.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, able to work independently or in a team, and enthusiastic about continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Efficient organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel and experience in international environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with transformer manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of transformer operational performance, including mechanical and thermal aspects.
  • Experience in international projects and working in multidisciplinary, cross-cultural teams.
  • Knowledge of methodologies for developing new technologies and products.
