The Industrialisation Engineer – Manufacturing will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems for GE Vernova’s power electronics products used in its global HVDC projects. As a visible member of the manufacturing team, you will be one of the key experts for production processes and systems. Working within the SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) framework, your input will help drive annual production improvements.

In this role, you will utilise cutting-edge technologies to improve safety, production efficiency, product quality, and overall manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles, manufacturing technologies, and a passion for innovation. This role ensures that all products meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with regulatory standards.

With an increasing workload, safety, quality, and efficiency across all operations will be critical to meeting our business targets. Using Continuous Improvement / Lean methods, you will remove waste and help ensure that production downtime is minimised. This role is pivotal in a fast-paced environment and requires both technical expertise and a desire to get the job done, as well as clear communication and strong working relationships with all stakeholders (Production, Quality, Procurement and Engineering/NPI).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the industrialisation of new products and product changes into manufacturing.
  • Coordinate the implementation of new designs, variants and process changes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and production readiness.
  • Capture manufacturing requirements to support the procurement of production and material handling equipment.
  • Define and develop manufacturing build strategies with engineering teams.
  • Specify, design, purchase, install and commission manufacturing equipment.
  • Work with suppliers to develop effective solutions.
  • Lead manufacturing projects from conception to completion.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Complete and participate in Design for Manufacture, PFMEA activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality and supply chain teams to resolve issues and meet NPI and CI milestones.
  • Support supplier onboarding activities for NPI.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, risk assessments, Management of Change documents and operator training materials.
  • Support the setup and ongoing use of manufacturing business systems, including QMS, LMS and equipment software.
  • Ensure processes and documentation changes are reviewed, approved and communicated effectively.
  • Develop and support strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste and improve process performance.
  • Use Lean tools to drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, flow, quality and utilisation.
  • Investigate and resolve technical and process issues to improve quality, safety and efficiency.

About You

You will have a good general education, strong communication skills and previous experience in a manufacturing environment supporting production equipment. SAP experience would be an advantage, although full training will be provided. An enquiring mind and a willingness to learn are essential.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Strong commitment to EHS compliance and safe working practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with assembly and test knowledge.
  • Experience with automated assembly and test equipment.
  • Experience in maintenance strategy, TPM, OEE improvement or reliability-based improvement activities.
  • Experience with PFMEA and Design for Manufacture.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to share knowledge.

Additional Skills That Would Be Beneficial

  • Experience in advanced manufacturing methods and Lean implementation.
  • Knowledge of HVDC product testing.
  • Understanding of business principles and cross-functional working.

  • Proficient in written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.

  • Experience in New Product Implementation, process development and execution.
  • SAP and Lean Manufacturing experience desirable.

Working Pattern

This is a standard working-hours role on site 5 days a week; however, shift work or weekend working may occasionally be required to support manufacturing output. Occasional travel might be necessary to support actions.
