The Global Engineering Competency Center (GECC) India - with teams in Noida and Chennai - is at the heart of Grid Automation’s Engineering ambition. GECC India is embarking on a bold transformation journey to evolve from an engineering back-office into a world-class Global Solutions Center that delivers high quality, scalable, cost-competitive and harmonized solutions across all GA regions globally. The GECC Transformation Leader will serve as the architect and catalyst of this change - partnering with the relevant functional leaders and Regional teams to build a scalable, high-performing, globally trusted Global Solutions Center in India.

This role demands a combination of strategic vision, operational rigor, stakeholder influence, talent/people growth mindset and change leadership - someone who can implement transformation while delivering measurable business outcomes – including 3x improvement of HCR:BCR mix.

What You'll Do

  • Lead end-to-end transformation strategy and execution — own the full phased transformation roadmap from initial strategy approval through to full Global Solutions Centre readiness, ensuring milestones are met at each governance stage; drive change management adoption across all levels of the organisation; lead GECC India's evolution from design and configuration support to full project engineering ownership.
  • Build and manage stakeholder alignment — develop and execute a comprehensive Voice of Customer (VoC) programme across all GA regions to understand pain points, build trust, and design the transformation roadmap; establish and manage a Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) framework covering workload forecasting and rolling annual commitments between regions and GECC; and facilitate regular cross-regional collaboration forums, face-to-face workshops, and governance reviews to ensure sustained partnership and executive sponsorship.
  • Drive operational excellence and quality — define, implement, and track core operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); lead the development and implementation of a Quality Framework across regions and GECC to close delivery gaps; champion AI-powered process automation and digital engineering tools to unlock productivity gains; and drive lean, standardised, and automated engineering processes that eliminate non-harmonised workflows.
  • Lead capability building and talent strategy — partner with Human Resources (HR) and Talent Acquisition to attract and retain engineering talent in line with the growth plan; develop a structured capability assessment and ramp-up plan including training academies, knowledge transfer from regional teams, and induction programmes; establish clear career pathways and progression frameworks to support talent retention; and coordinate with the GSW GDC Romania team for leadership coaching, knowledge exchange, and capability benchmarking.
  • Design and support the organisation — design and evolve a scalable, sustainable organisational model for GECC India; develop a formal service catalogue with defined scope, change control processes, and delivery standards; implement structured progress reporting for the Steering Committee and Executive Leadership; proactively identify and mitigate transformation risks; and provide leadership support to GECC India during the transformation phase as required.

Who We're Looking For

  • You're a senior transformation and engineering operations leader with a track record of building high-performing, globally distributed engineering organisations — someone who combines strategic clarity with operational discipline and genuine investment in developing the people around them.
  • A formal education in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline provides a strong foundation for this role; however, we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
  • Major experience in engineering, technology, or operations environments, with significant experience specifically in transformation, change management, or engineering and operations leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder transformation programmes in a global engineering or technology environment.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, regional stakeholders, and cross-functional teams across multiple geographies and cultures.
  • Solid understanding of Grid Automation, Power Systems, or Industrial Automation engineering domains.
  • Commitment to developing people — with a demonstrated ability to define, build, and develop high-performing management teams.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen — ability to build, track, and defend business cases in a global context.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed, multicultural teams across multiple time zones.

Preferred

  • Experience setting up or scaling a Global Delivery Centre (GDC) or Engineering Centre of Excellence (CoE).
  • Familiarity with Grid Automation products and solutions.
  • Practical knowledge of Lean, Agile, and perform-while-you-transform operating principles.
  • Expertise in people coaching, mentoring, and train-the-trainer delivery models.
  • Experience in AI adoption, intelligent automation, or digital engineering tools in an industrial engineering context.
  • Understanding of engineering talent market dynamics in India.
  • Certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP), Change Management (Prosci or Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP)), or Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt).
  • Proficiency in KPI dashboards and operational governance tools.
