We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive strategic business expansion in line with the department vision across a growing and dynamic market segment. This role will be central to accelerating growth, deepening customer engagement, strengthening market presence, and enhancing our competitive position across key industrial and energy markets. Reporting to the Service Director, this position requires a commercially astute and externally focused professional with strong business development, market insight, and customer engagement capability. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping growth strategy, developing differentiated value propositions, and supporting the conversion of strategic opportunities into sustainable business outcomes.
The Business Development Manager will perform the following duties:
- Drive business growth in line with the department strategy across targeted customers, market segments, and geographies.
- Develop and expand strategic customer relationships while identifying new opportunities, partnerships, and market channels that support medium- and long-term growth.
- Shape and position compelling industrial solutions and value propositions by aligning customer requirements, market trends, account strategies, and competitive insight.
- Lead and support commercial growth activities including market analysis, sales campaigns, promotional initiatives, customer presentations, and participation in relevant industry forums.
- Partner closely with Sales Leaders, Sales Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen the opportunity pipeline, support proposal development, and position the full offering, including service and after-sales solutions.
- Build strong internal and external networks that support collaboration, market visibility, innovation engagement, and long-term commercial success.
- Lead by example in promoting GE Vernova's values, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, integrity, compliance, customer focus, and operational excellence.

Qualifications:
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Strong background in Industrial and/or Power Conversion markets.
- Proven experience in business development, strategic sales support, or related commercial leadership roles.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, interpret, and respond to customer requirements and market opportunities.
- Strong commercial acumen, including the ability to understand account strategy, value positioning, and competitive dynamics.
- Experience developing and supporting customer-facing proposals, presentations, and value propositions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, Salesforce, and SAP.
- Commercially driven, customer-focused, and results-oriented.
- Credible and effective communicator, with the ability to influence at all levels internally and externally.
- Strategic, proactive, and resilient, with the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic commercial environment.
- Collaborative and relationship-oriented, with a strong ability to work across functions, regions, and customer interfaces.
- Highly organised, accountable, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes at pace.
Activity will primarily cover the UK, Ireland and the Nordics. Domestic and international travel will form part of the role.
