Job Description Summary
As the Senior Contract Manager, you will report directly to the Grid Solutions Regional Contract Management Leader and indirectly to the Project Director. You will work closely with the Project Team to oversee all contractual activities within your assigned Projects portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Analyze contracts thoroughly and develop, with the Project Director, the project’s contract and commercial strategy.
- Present contractual analysis and strategies to the Project Team, and prepare related deliverables such as Contract Questionnaire and Contract Commercial Plan (CCP).
- Draft and communicate Claim and Variation Procedures to the Project Team.
- Implement contractual procedures concerning claims, insurance, variation orders, and notifications.
- Identify contractual obligations of GE, the customer/consortium, and third parties, and develop the Project’s contract commercial plan, including claim strategies.
- Support risk and opportunity management proactively.
- Manage all contractual activities from project hand-over from Sales until completion and settlement of contractual issues.
- Ensure timely notices are issued as per contract requirements.
- Handle claims negotiations and settlements with customers and partners, including contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Manage project variation requests and insurance coverage, including claims and settlements.
- Provide contractual guidance and training to the Project team as needed.
- Address contractual/legal inquiries, referring to Legal when necessary.
- Support dispute resolution processes.
- Report on claims, variations, and critical contractual issues to management and relevant departments.
- Obtain management approval for variation orders and settlements in line with delegation of authority.
Experience and Knowledge
- Proven track record in claim preparation and negotiations, including strategies for EOT, global claims, and contract renegotiations.
- Knowledge of delay analysis principles such as critical path and concurrent delay analysis.
- Understanding of contract law and project risk management.
- Technical understanding relevant to the energy infrastructure sector.
- Experience in high-level negotiations and complex infrastructure projects, preferably power generation and transmission.
- Experience with NEC and Fidic contract models is preferred.

- Strong influencing, intercultural, and teamwork skills.
- University degree in engineering, quantity surveying, business administration, or law.
- Accountability and a proactive mindset.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
