Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic commercial plans tailored to efficiently achieve business objectives in accordance with industry regulations and processes related to public sector bidding.
- Lead and manage the tendering process, including proposal development, pricing strategy and risk management, with a strong understanding of public bidding procedures and industry-standard terms such as NEC and FIDIC.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers, ensuring familiarity with agreements pertinent to the Energy Sector, such as NDAs, MOUs and Consortium Agreements, while maintaining alignment with company goals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, legal, technical and operational teams to ensure seamless execution of commercial initiatives that respect public sector procedural requirements.
- Review and redline contractual terms, ensuring they meet company objectives and industry standards; lead negotiations with customers, working closely with legal teams to address complex issues and ensure compliance.
- Extract and analyse data from internal systems to generate insights that inform strategic decisions and align with industry protocols.
- Evaluate and mitigate contractual risks, establishing robust risk management processes that adhere to security classification and compliance standards.
- Maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and customers, acting as a trustworthy and polite advisor familiar with industry-standard procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
- Significant experience in commercial management, with a strong preference for familiarity with Government Contracts within the Defence sector.
- Demonstrated experience in negotiating high-value contracts and managing complex commercial operations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop strategic insights and actionable plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g. Salesforce, Excel, CPQs) is preferred.
