Job Description Summary Reporting to the A&C Automation Product Leader, the Automation product manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Automation business strategy for Power Conversion through the identification of growth opportunities, platform convergence, new technologies, partnerships and lifecycle planning.
Job Description Summary Reporting to the A&C Automation Product Leader, the Automation product manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Automation business strategy for Power Conversion through the identification of growth opportunities, platform convergence, new technologies, partnerships and lifecycle planning.
The Product Manager plays an important role in the product lifecycle process and is responsible for ensuring the overall structure of the complete Automation solution meets the demands of high availability systems while ensuring they are easy to use, efficient to configure, resilient and cyber secure.
The product manager has experience in product management and has experience of contributing to the design and direction of product development .
Job Description
In this role you will focus on
- Develop customer connections to understand what problems they want solving.
- Define and implement the MGPP, working closely with the business teams.
- Understand industry trends and identify growth opportunities.
- Use customer and market feedback to produce lifecycle strategies and develop value propositions.
- Communicate and sync with regional teams to ensure the growth strategy is well understood.
- Manage product portfolio, and ensure a competitive position and product vitality.
- Deliver product and solution developments to meet strategic, lifecycle and project requirements.
- Work with the engineering manager to build a multi-year technology roadmap.
- Pro-actively manage product convergence, while providing a cost-effective roadmap for customer migration
- Optimize key supply chain relationships. Understand and implement cost management strategies.
- Work with Project Management team to assure clear hand-off on new projects.
- Participate in the P&T Board meetings to ensure strategy is aligned.
- Work closely with the Systems team to ensure the Automation solutions work well together.
- Support the ITO teams as needed to ensure consistent high quality response to customers.
- We are looking for a committed and professional individual with
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. MBA is a plus.
- Expertise in Product Management, specifically within one of these key areas Marine/Offshore, Industrial Automation, or Power Systems.
- Strong business acumen, analytical mindset, and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Deep understanding of OT Systems (e. g., PMS, IAS, EMS).
- Familiarity with marine electrical systems (e. g., hybrid propulsion, energy storage, power distribution).
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC-UA, CANbus, IEC 61850).
- Domain knowledge of Operation Technology Architectures in one of these focus areas (Electrification, Marine, Navy, Metals)
- Good knowledge of Cyber security (IEC 62443, NIST etc..)
- Experience of operating in a matrix environment with strong relationship-building capability, able to work effectively across functions.
