GE Vernova Power Conversion & Storage provides electrification systems that are critical to customers' power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. As a Project Manager, you'll take ownership of small to mid-sized projects and provide commercial support across a portfolio of projects. This dual role combines project delivery with process compliance—helping ensure tools, trackers, and systems are deployed effectively. You'll work closely with senior PMs and the PM Leader to drive operational excellence and deliver projects that meet technical, financial, and contractual requirements.
You will manage projects from contract award through delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. In addition to leading customer communications, you'll support commercial activities such as invoicing, cash flow, and reporting, while assisting with process improvements and compliance across the PM function.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver assigned projects on time and within budget, ensuring commercial success.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the customer post-contract award, managing communications and negotiations.
- Monitor project performance, costs, and cash flow; prepare reports and action plans.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company standards.
- Support PM Leader with process deployment, tool implementation, and portfolio compliance.
- Assist senior PMs with commercial tasks and tendering activities.
- Promote Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across all activities.
- Experience in Project Management or related commercial/engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of project financials, cost control, and reporting.
- Ability to manage projects in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic knowledge of contracts and purchase orders.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Eagerness to learn with a growth-mindset and diligent approach to work.
- Proficiency in MS Office; strong reporting skills.
- Full UK driving license and ability to travel occasionally within the UK.
- Unrestricted Right to Work in the UK & availability to work from the office in Rugby, Warwickshire.
- Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, PMQ).
- Familiarity with SAP and Microsoft Project.
- Knowledge of power conversion systems or electrical equipment.
This role involves work for customers who manage critical infrastructure; based on customer requirements it will be necessary to carry out background checks and suitability assessments (UK BPSS clearance OR UK SC clearance) as part of the hiring process.
