The Power System Modelling Engineer role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to global energy projects at a leading energy technology company. You’ll work on electric power and propulsion systems, becoming a valued member of a world‑class engineering team. As part of the Power Systems team, you’ll tackle complex challenges using advanced analytical tools to deliver safe, performance‑driven solutions. Your involvement will span the full project lifecycle—from design and development to procurement, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and potentially in‑service and obsolescence support—leveraging your expertise to shape and deliver innovative power systems.

Core Responsibilities

  • Undertake power system studies and analyses using simulation software, such as MATLAB, DIGsILENT and/or ETAP.
  • Perform system and equipment design and specification, support test & validation, commissioning and in‑service life service support.
  • Produce clear and concise engineering documentation.
  • Ensure Power System designs comply with the relevant health & safety, international standards, and class society rules where applicable.
  • Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders, such as leadership teams, customers and suppliers, managing requirements.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant class and marine standards.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant subject, relevant experience would be beneficial.
  • Sole British citizenship with a valid British Passport (‘UK Eyes only’).
  • Possession of or being capable of obtaining SC level security clearance.
  • Relevant equipment and systems‑level experience, preferably in industrial, marine, or naval defense sectors.
  • Willing to travel within the UK and internationally for short‑term assignments.

Nice To Have

  • Working towards or hold CEng qualification.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: power system modelling, power electronics, machines and drives (PEMD).
  • Familiarity with marine classification society standards, MIL or DEF standards.
