Reporting directly to the UK Marine Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our people, data, and operations meet and exceed Government Agency requirements by leading the day-to-day management of physical and personnel security vetting.

You will be the primary point of contact for national security compliance and the primary interface between GE Vernova and government agencies. This is a boot on the ground role where you will be the driving force behind our security culture, ensuring we meet complex regulatory demands including the administration, auditing, and processing of security clearances. This is a hybrid role based at our Rugby, UK office 3 days a week.

What you will do:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with the UK Security Policy Framework (SPF), JSP, and IPSA requirements. This includes the management, storage, and auditing of classified documentation.
  • Personnel Security: Lead the administration and auditing of personnel security vetting, including the processing of BPSS, SC, and DV clearances.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Function as the primary site authority for security matters, managing enquiries from government agencies and customers to ensure all legislative requirements are adhered to.
  • Operational Security Advice: Provide counsel to the UK Marine Director ensuring security protocols are integrated into operational business processes.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a small team providing guidance to ensure consistent operational standards and delivery.
  • Security Culture: Oversee the delivery of security education and awareness training to staff to maintain a compliant, security-conscious work environment.

What you will bring:

  • Professional background: Proven experience as Head of Security Control or equivalent within UK Defence, Aerospace, MOD, or Government contracting environments.
  • Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of UK Government security standards (JSP, SPF) and the processes governing personnel security vetting (BPSS, SC, DV).
  • Communication: Ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly and professionally to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Professional Conduct: Ability to manage sensitive information with integrity, discretion, and composure under pressure.
  • Security & Vetting: UK Eyes only - must hold Sole British Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain SC-level national security vetting. All candidates will be subject to rigorous background checks and suitability assessments (BPSS or SC clearance) as part of the hiring process.
