As innovators in power conversion and storage systems, we empower our utility and industrial partners by solving their most challenging electrification problems and accelerating the move toward a sustainable, decarbonized future.

This is a strategic regulatory governance and assurance role focused on industrial security, vetting compliance, and the application of the UK Government Security Policy Framework (SPF). This position requires deep expertise in Joint Service Publications (JSP), the Security Policy Framework (SPF), and the management of government contracts requiring high-level security vetting.

This is a hands-on role where you will oversee personnel security, leading the end-to-end administration, auditing, and processing of complex security clearances—including Baseline Personnel Security Standards (BPSS), Security Checks (SC), and Developed Vetting (DV). You will be accountable for ensuring that all personnel working on government-contracted projects maintain the appropriate level of clearance.

In this capacity, you will serve as the lead liaison with the United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) agency, managing the complexities and timelines of these critical applications to ensure full compliance. This is a hybrid role based at our Rugby, UK office 3 days a week.

Job Description
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with the UK Security Policy Framework (SPF), JSP, and IPSA requirements. This includes the management, storage, and auditing of classified documentation.
  • Personnel Security: Lead the administration and auditing of personnel security vetting, including the processing of BPSS, SC, and DV clearances.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Function as the primary site authority for security matters, managing enquiries from government agencies and customers to ensure all legislative requirements are adhered to.
  • Operational Security Advice: Provide counsel to the UK Marine Director ensuring security protocols are integrated into operational business processes.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a small team providing guidance to ensure consistent operational standards and delivery.
  • Security Culture: Oversee the delivery of security education and awareness training to staff to maintain a compliant, security-conscious work environment.
What you will bring
  • Professional Expertise: Proven experience in a senior industrial security or regulatory governance role within UK Defence, Aerospace, MOD, or government contracting environments.
  • Regulatory Literacy: Comprehensive and applied knowledge of the UK Security Policy Framework (SPF), Joint Service Publications (JSP), and the legislative requirements governing sensitive government contracts.
  • Vetting Management: Demonstrated success in managing end-to-end personnel security vetting processes, including the complexities of BPSS, SC, and DV clearances.
  • Strategic Liaison: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to act as the primary interface between GE Vernova, the United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) agency, and other government bodies.
  • Operational Integrity: An uncompromising approach to compliance, with the ability to handle sensitive information with complete discretion, integrity, and composure under pressure.
  • Clearance Requirements: UK Eyes Only. Candidates must hold sole British Citizenship and can obtain and maintain SC-level national security vetting as a minimum requirement. Due to the critical nature of this role, all successful applicants will be subject to rigorous background and suitability assessments.
What we offer
  • Total Reward: Competitive compensation including performance-related bonus, car allowance, flexible pension, employer-funded private health insurance, income protection, and life assurance.
  • Wellbeing & Balance: We embrace flexible working and hybrid options, empowering you to achieve a true work-life balance that suits your lifestyle.
  • Time to Recharge: 26 days of holiday, plus bank holidays.
  • Career Growth: We provide a platform for continuous development through mentorship, open dialogue, and support for professional qualifications.
