Within our Power Conversion & Storage division, we sit at the heart of this mission, engineering the advanced electrification and energy storage solutions that power global industry and stabilise the world’s grids. We aren’t just providing technology; we are delivering the essential infrastructure for global decarbonisation. As we scale our operations to meet the urgent demand for energy efficiency, the speed and precision of our commercial agreements are critical. We are looking for a Commercial Contracts Lead who is energised by the frontline of the sales. In this role, you won’t just be reviewing documents; you will be actively shaping the proposals and terms that drive our business forward. If you have a sharp eye for commercial risk and a pragmatic approach to negotiating customer T&Cs, you will play a vital role in our lean, global team as we accelerate the world towards a sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute sharp, strategic redlines on T&Cs, ranging from standard Industrial frameworks (FIDIC, NEC4) to Government and Defence conditions, Consortium agreements, MOUs, etc. You’ll focus on what matters, LDs, Caps, and Indemnities, to achieve maximum protection with minimal friction.
  • Support senior leads in high-profile negotiations and lead smaller, standard commercial discussions. You’ll use a blend of assertiveness and collaboration to secure outcomes that build long-term trust and protect our interests.
  • Translate corporate policy into enforceable, smart contractual terms that "make sense" for both the business and the customer.
  • Identify essential flow-down requirements to ensure our subcontractors are as committed to project success as we are.
  • Own the risk assessment process, managing commercial deviations and ensuring gathering necessary approvals (Export Controls, Tax, Credit Checks, and Cashflow health).
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to prepare the commercial cost structure for bids, applying clever financial provisions (Forex, Escalation, Indexation) and risk-contingencies to shield our margins from erosion.
  • Own the commercial review and creation of commercial proposals; translating contractual risk into submission-ready bids that are signed-off by the board.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • While a legal background is valued, we are primarily seeking a commercial professional with a deep understanding of contract mechanics and a passion for negotiation. This role is designed for a specialist who enjoys the technicality of redlining and the strategy of closing industrial deals.
  • Foundation experience in commercial management within large-scale Industrial, Energy, or Infrastructure sectors. Familiarity with Government/Defence contracting (e.g., MoD standards or DEFCONs) is a significant advantage.
  • Strong ability to interpret and negotiate Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) with a focus on risk mitigation and commercial velocity.
  • A high degree of 'commercial curiosity' and a desire to grow into a lead negotiator role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., Salesforce, Excel, CPQs) is preferred.

Our team manages a diverse global portfolio covering both Industrial and Government sectors. Depending on your specific project assignments, you may be required to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, UK Security Clearance (SC level) to support our Defence-related contracts.

What We Offer

  • Engaging and challenging projects that drive industry innovation and actively decarbonising the global energy grid.
  • A professional and flexible work environment that respects your personal time while providing the tools and flexibility you need to deliver at your best.
  • We are in a major growth phase, with opportunities for professional growth and development within a supportive and collaborative team culture.
  • Competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits, including pension plans, health insurance, and generous vacation policies.

  • Relocation Assistance Provided: No
