The predicted salary is between 60000 - 80000 £ per year.

Produce & manage the technical offerings for Marine & Defence Active Stator and Halo offerings predominantly for the Autonomous & Commercial Marine new equipment markets and provide technical and cost estimating support during the bid process through to order handover.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the technical process including:
    • Interpret the customer requirements with accuracy, quality and timeliness to meet customer needs & business goals
    • Working with support functions including Exec Management, Engineering, Sourcing and CommOps to help secure best ‘Technical Design’ and Technical and Commercial approval.
    • Completion of the technical risk review process (PRA) and project schedules as required
    • Creating internal/external supplier specifications (ESSs)
    • Assisting with cost out exercises to help secure competitive pricing.
    • Providing technical support through all stages of the ‘bid’ & ‘risk’ processes for NEU P&L and as CoE for the global business.
    • Producing technical design specifications including system design and electrical/control design diagrams.
    • Supporting Sales Managers in their customer meetings & negotiations
    • Participating in the ITO_OTR handover process providing technical support to the order booking process as required.

Providing Value propositions:

  • In conjunction with the sales leader and account sales manager understand the account strategy and our competitive situation
  • Work with creativity in our technical proposals, providing best solution/best value offerings which demonstrate our value proposition to the customer
  • Consider the Complete System offering including AS and Halo and where necessary other power, propulsion, digital and automation equipment.
  • Creating and presenting power-points to best describe the value of our offering – presenting both internally & externally.

Negotiating & order closure:

  • In conjunction with the sales account manager, commercial, legal and senior leadership help to develop our negotiation position.

Understanding markets & geography:

  • Cover the global Commercial Marine and Autonomous & non-combative Navy vessels. Provide support for solutions and services as part of global CoE and projects booked specifically in the NEU P&L.

The position will primarily be office based in Rugby, UK, with the opportunity for some overseas travel supporting the global business.

Other key tasks include:

  • Helping to ‘sell to win’ business in accordance with the unit financial KPI’s (orders, cash, margin, convertibility)
  • Providing assistance to the project management team regarding any post order claims and project variations
  • The ability to work on multiple bids for multiple customers at any one time
