Job Description Summary: Manufacturing of large power transformers to meet customer/production plans, ensuring assembly, inspection and test is conducted using Lean methodology. Working to specifications and instructions, using the correct tools and methods. Meeting exacting standards expected by the customer. Responsibilities Environment / Health / Safety: Compliance with EHS adherence to safe working procedures from the perspective of their own safety and the safety of colleagues. Product on time delivery: Responsible for the build of the product to the manufacturing plan. Product Quality: Responsible for the build quality of the product in line with standard operating instructions. May be required to assist in the training of others. Product cost: Responsible for the efficient manufacture of the product in line with defined process. Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvement actions that result in sustainable productivity improvements without impairing quality, delivery or safety. Propose improvements and savings in line with GE processes using the Employee Ideas Scheme. Maintenance: Follow routine maintenance schedules and cleaning plans for workstations, jigs and fixtures. Highlight issues to the Production Support Engineer/Coordinator. Support other duties as required to support the facility. Adapt to future business requirements. Qualifications/Requirements Good general standard of education with confirmed educational qualifications. Significant experience in light mechanical assembly or similar. Electrical/electronic qualifications may be an advantage. Mandatory EHS compliance with Life Saving Rules. Safe working practices within the workplace. The ability to work as part of a team. Understanding of Lean manufacturing techniques would be an advantage. Understanding of Kanban
