Our Quality Engineering team serves as the critical link between design, manufacturing, and customer delivery. We go beyond traditional inspection, embedding quality into every stage of the product lifecycle to build enduring confidence with customers and stakeholders. Through a proactive, prevention-focused mindset and data-driven decision-making, we strengthen capability, reduce risk, and deliver measurable operational and business improvements while maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be a key driver of quality excellence within our production environment. You will play a vital role in converting manufacturing issues into evidence-led corrective actions, recurrence prevention, and measurable process improvements. You will manage quality engineering activities across your assigned areas, taking ownership of investigations and driving continual improvement by shifting the focus from inspection to prevention. By translating complex quality data into actionable priorities, you will directly influence production outcomes and provide the reporting necessary to support our evolving quality strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performance Improvement: Translate defects and investigation findings into evidence-led corrective and preventive actions. Use Pareto, trend analysis, and COPQ data to prioritize improvements, enhance process capability, and drive "right-first time" performance.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to uphold site standards, support the closure of audit findings, and ensure ongoing QMS compliance. Maintain accurate quality records and proactively escalate high-risk or aged issues to leadership.
  • NCR & RCA Management: Manage the lifecycle of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) from initial containment to final closure. Lead structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations, ensuring corrective actions are tracked, preventive measures are defined, and effectiveness is verified.
  • Process Risk & Control: Contribute to the development of control plans and provide key inputs for PFMEA to ensure robust process risk management. Support the execution of APQP, PPAP, and manufacturing change governance.
  • Systemic Learning: Focus on defect prevention by identifying systemic trends, ensuring that lessons learned are effectively embedded into standard work and visual management systems.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related technical field.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven ability to apply core quality tools specifically PFMEA, Control Plans, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to reduce process variation. Practical experience conducting Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and performing Process Capability (Cp/Cpk) studies to validate manufacturing stability.
  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in a Quality Engineering role within a regulated manufacturing or engineering environment. Solid working knowledge of ISO 9001 (or AS9100) and experience maintaining compliance through internal audits.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret technical drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and engineering specifications to ensure product conformance with a strong understanding of quality methodologies and tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA.
  • Communication: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for communicating technical findings to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

You must hold a UK passport for Security Clearance (SC) to be considered for this role. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Desirable Certifications:

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Quality Planning: Practical experience with APQP and PPAP processes to manage complex manufacturing requirements.
  • Energy & Power Standards: Knowledge of industry-specific standards such as Lloyds Register, Bureau Veritas (BV), ATEX, or EX certifications.
  • Defence Standards: Familiarity with NATO quality standards (e.g., AQAP 2105, 2110).
