This role is responsible for building and executing GE Vernova Licensing and intellectual property (IP)–based business plans and transactions. The position supports partner and customer negotiations, working closely with internal teams to identify and develop new external market opportunities. The role will help shape and align programs across GE Vernova business units and functions, preparing and executing those programs for third‑party partnerships. A key component of this position is deal and program management, including post‑deal operational execution and ongoing partnership management.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Commercialize GE Vernova technologies and intellectual property globally through licensing, joint ventures, and other innovative business structures in partnership with GE Vernova business units.
  • Evaluate technologies and programs, build complex financial and market models, and structure commercial deals that drive strategic and financial value.
  • Lead or support negotiation and execution of IP‑ and technology‑based transactions, including management of post‑deal obligations and growth initiatives.
  • Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies for approved programs, including deal structuring, team alignment, and program governance.
  • Navigate business constraints such as regulatory, compliance, IP encumbrances, labor considerations, trade controls, and product strategies.
  • Identify high‑potential patents and technologies and develop them into revenue‑generating licensing or partnership programs.
  • Create and launch new commercialization programs based on GE Vernova patents, technologies, and businesses.
  • Manage and grow existing licensee relationships, including royalty compliance, audits, and financial performance tracking.
  • Drive process improvements through standardization, simplification, and enhanced compliance practices.
  • Deliver measurable financial and strategic impact while upholding GE Vernova’s culture of integrity.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in a relevant field, or a high school diploma/GED (or equivalent) with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant work experience in IP Commercialization or related function.
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, including international travel.

Desired Characteristics

  • MBA, JD, or PhD strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in intellectual property (IP) valuation, financial modeling, and venture or equity‑based deal structures.
  • Familiarity with clean energy, industrial software, and/or decarbonization‑related technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build robust business cases for patent‑ and technology‑driven programs, including market sizing, valuation, and customer identification.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience commercializing new technologies across one or more of the following domains: energy, materials, software, electrical systems, or mechanical systems.
  • Proven experience in technology evaluation, intellectual property analysis, and patent landscape assessment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with IP technology transfer, licensing, sale and/or for development across multiple companies.
  • Able to effectively work with all levels of internal and external customers & partners.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
