You are the trusted technical authority for transformer condition monitoring, dissolved gas analysis, oil diagnostics, partial discharge, and bushing monitoring. You turn complex technical data into clear insight, helping customers and internal teams make confident decisions that improve reliability, strengthen asset performance, and support lifecycle management.

Working with a high degree of autonomy, you lead the resolution of complex technical issues, support continuous improvement, and influence how monitoring and diagnostics expertise is applied across service delivery. You partner closely with engineering, product management, quality, field service, and commercial teams to improve product performance, strengthen support practices, and deliver excellent customer outcomes.

What you’ll do

  • You assess transformer health using online monitoring systems, dissolved gas analysis, oil diagnostics, and related condition monitoring techniques.
  • You interpret diagnostic data to identify emerging faults, insulation aging, and other risks to transformer reliability.
  • You provide expert guidance to customers and internal teams on transformer monitoring strategies, asset health assessment, and maintenance decisions.
  • You investigate complex issues, support escalations, and help drive effective, timely resolutions.
  • You prepare clear technical reports, summaries, and recommendations for a range of audiences.
  • You contribute to continuous improvement by sharing insights that enhance products, services, and diagnostic methods.
  • You support and mentor colleagues by sharing your specialist knowledge in transformer diagnostics and condition monitoring.
  • You work closely with laboratory and field data, helping maintain strong data quality and diagnostic integrity.

What you’ll bring

  • Deep experience in transformer condition assessment, with strong expertise in dissolved gas analysis and oil diagnostics.
  • A strong understanding of transformer failure modes, insulation aging mechanisms, gas generation patterns, moisture effects, and furan analysis.
  • Confidence interpreting results using methods such as IEC 60599, IEEE C57.104, Rogers Ratio, Duval Triangle, and related diagnostic techniques.
  • Experience supporting reliability programs, asset health strategies, and maintenance decision-making for high-voltage power transformers.
  • The ability to identify developing faults and recommend practical corrective actions based on diagnostic findings.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Sound judgment, strong analytical ability, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience preparing technical reports and recommendations that support asset management decisions.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to influence engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Experience in transformer testing, condition monitoring, or power equipment diagnostics is an advantage.

It would be an advantage if you also have

  • Experience with utility-scale or industrial power transformers and substations.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and guidance from IEEE, IEC, ASTM, or CIGRE.
  • Experience using asset management or condition monitoring platforms.
  • Experience mentoring or training others in transformer diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with circuit breaker monitoring and associated data analysis.
  • Experience using the GE Kelman range of equipment and Perception software.
