As the Quality Engineering Lead specializing in HVDC Control & Protection, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, reducing costs of poor quality, and ensuring adherence to quality standards in HVDC Engineering. Reporting directly to the HVDC Engineering Quality Leader, your primary focus will be on safeguarding engineering quality throughout the project lifecycle., The purpose of this role is to proactively lead improving standard work application (e.g. Gate Reviews, Risk Assessment, Engineering Change Management, Root Cause Analysis, etc.), reduction of Cost of Poor Quality & Non-Conformity resolution time in HVDC Engineering.

Acting as an ambassador for quality, influencing, supporting, contributing, mentoring, and gate keeping Engineering NPI, ITO, and OTR Processes. Also, ensuring Lesson Learned during project execution are incorporated in Design.

This role reports into "HVDC Engineering Quality Leader" and work very closely with C&P, V&V, NPI, Product Care Leaders / Teams., * Ensure Key Market requirements, "Return of Experience (RoEs)" are being addressed while developing "New Product Introduction (NPI)". Also, Support / Facilitate Risk assessment study using "Design Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (DFMEA)" during NPI stage.

  • Ensure project requirements are fully studied during "Order to Remittance (OTR)" handover. "Risks & Opportunities" are clearly noted, and Risk mitigation plan is worked upon.

  • Actively participate in Design / Technical / System / Gate Reviews & ensure the relevant PDG processes are fully followed with an emphasize that all customer requirements are being addressed.

  • Review Engineering Change Management (ECM) deployment on Projects from timely implementation and adherence to the process standpoint.

  • Monitor Project Engineering Progress during monthly engineering reviews and bring the discussion towards "Recovery Plan" for "Off Track" KPIs.

  • Lead / Initiate Non-conformity, Customer Complaint reviews with project teams from "On Time" & "Quality" resolution point of view; emphasize on Containment, Corrective, and Preventive Actions.

  • Lead / Support / Coach "Problem Solving Report (PSR)", "8D (Eight Disciplines)" for medium to high complexity issues.

  • Lead "Lesson Learned (LL)" forums to capture, validate, and release Lessons in the tool and ensure "Design Guidelines", "Processes", "Templates", "Checklists" are improved.

  • Review "Budget Deviation Requests (BDR)" on HVDC and drive improvement actions.

  • Guide, Coach, Mentor, Support Teams on "Quality Tools & Processes".

  • Work in collaboration with cross functional Teams within GSI and out of it such as PT, GA to ensure Project issues are resolved timely.

  • Lead Process Audits and contribute to "External Audits" preparation.

  • Ensure timely execution of audits and findings are addressed within stipulated time.

  • Facilitate / Lead / Contribute to Kaizen for process improvement.

  • Ensure SW release Quality.

  • Undergraduate / Postgraduate degree, preferably in Electrical / Electronic / Control Engineering from an accredited university or college

  • A minimum 5 years of professional experience in Quality / Engineering

  • A minimum 5 years of experience working in Projects / Programs

  • Experience working in a "Global", "Multi Cultured", & "Matrix" Organization
