As part of the V and V Test Automation Engineering team, the Lead Automation Test Engineer will work with a highly motivated and dynamic team of engineers on the delivery and automation of existing and new power electronics application requirements for power systems, particularly for HVDC converters and the forthcoming “HVDC Grid”. The development of scripts is technically challenging and involves a variety of engineering disciplines, contribution through teamwork, clear communication with the software and validation departments of the project, and an innovative approach.
Essential responsibilities:
- Design and develop testing framework.
- Test automation planning.
- Develop test scripts according to company defined standards.
- Handle automation test on a project single handedly.
- Support create and enhance in-house tools.
- Execution of automated tests for different aspects such as PSCAD and MATLAB.
- Clearly communicate details of failures to the respective engineering functions.
- Carry out execution of tests and provide clear reporting of results.
- Seek to automate testing wherever possible using our automatic testing platform.
- Support continual improvement, raising the effectiveness and efficiency of the team through the introduction of tools, methods, and process improvements.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Engineering degree or equivalent including power systems and power electronics subjects or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in HVDC business.
- Significant experience in handling automation tests across any industry.
- Experience of handling test frameworks involved in testing of embedded systems.
- Experience in technical leadership with the ability to manage a team of ATE engineers.
- Strong communication skills with fluency in the English language.
- Willingness to travel to support projects globally and readiness for flexibility with working hours.

- Good understanding of how scripts interact with the software environment.
