Job Description Summary
The Heavy Lift Operations Manager is responsible to manage and oversee the heavy lift suppliers’ package, port calls and port operation crew including load in operation, tower section upending & pre-assembly lifting, onshore load out activities, reverse logistics.
You will ensure that they are completed safely, on time, and to the expected level of quality, while respecting the project’s budget.
A Logistics Manager and a team of field supervisors will report to you to operate on site.
You will be part of the Project Management Office (PMO)—Marshalling Harbor department—in a cross-functional role with the other Package Managers present at Nigg Port, working in close collaboration with the Tower Pre-assembly Package Manager.
You will demonstrate excellent organization, proactiveness and communication skills at all levels, with a heavy lifting technical background.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Be the primary point of contact and administrate the Heavy Lift subcontract.
- SQDC; Ensure operations are carried out safely, at the expected level of quality, on time and within allocated budget.
- Supervise load-in operation, storage, delivery to pre-assembly and to load out for transport and lifting related operations.
- Review, comment and validate documentation such as RAMS, lift plans, reports.
Elaborate daily progress reports and control the timely publication of the heavy lift package documentation.
- Comply to weekly tool-box talks and EHS inspections requirements
- Participate daily in the elaboration of the site planning.
- Train and lead field supervisors team members.
- Perform activities in accordance with the plan of the day and lookaheads.
- Support the Site Logistics Manager activities
- Manage ground conditions maintenance and suitability with the port
- Address Marine Warranty Surveyors requirements and requests for clarifications related to the Marshalling Harbor operations.
- Participate in the preparation of progress reports to be submitted to the client.
- Prepare and provide internal reports, including financial estimates, quality cost tracking and continuous improvement analysis.
- Review and approve time and cost impacts resulting from client requests and involving a change in project scope.
- Inform the Hub Manager and Installation Manager of any major problem affecting commercial, contractual, or planning aspects.
- Participate in the risk assessment of the project and the development and application of appropriate risk mitigation measures.
- Support the Site Safety & environmental initiatives in collaboration with the GE stakeholders.

- Competent LOLER Appointed Person
- Wealth of Logistical Project Management experience
- Proven Experience in Heavy lifting mechanical engineering, able to read and validate lift plans
- Ability to manage a range of tasks with varying time pressures, prioritize demanding workloads and pay attention to detail
- Strong commitment to EHS rules and regulations
- Team leadership experience
- Working on site , located with commuting distance to Port Nigg (accommodation provided)
