The I&E Services Engineer will provide essential technical support through the delivery of reactive and planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, and the commissioning of electrical systems for our customers. You will act as a key technical representative on customer sites, ensuring that industrial power and automation systems operate at peak performance. By combining hands-on technical expertise with a customer-focused approach, you will diagnose issues, implement robust repairs, and support the successful delivery of projects to time and budget. You will thrive in an environment that balances independent site-based work with collaborative team efforts, all while maintaining our high standards for safety and operational excellence.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Delivering expert installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HV and LV drives and PLC-based automation systems across diverse industrial environments.
  • Managing end-to-end fault diagnosis and repair activities, providing both remote and on-site support to minimise customer downtime.
  • Ensuring safety and compliance by preparing detailed risk assessments, method statements, and professional site reports.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and customers to identify opportunities for service growth and technical improvements.
  • Supporting 24/7 service requirements, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to maintaining critical infrastructure for our clients.
  • Updating technical documentation and equipment drawings to ensure accurate records for future service activities.

Special Role Requirements

  • Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments.
  • Willing to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments.
  • Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments.

Skills for Success

  • The ability to interpret complex electronic and electrical engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.
  • The capability to diagnose and resolve issues with variable speed drives and PC/PLC equipment.
  • An understanding of EHS legislations and commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards on-site.
  • An expertise in electrical or power electronics engineering, gained through practical experience or formal training.
  • A keen interest in delivering high-quality service and fostering long-term relationships with customers.
  • A formal education or a recognised engineering apprenticeship in an electrical or power electronics discipline is a great foundation, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

This is a permanent position linked to our Power Conversion office in Rugby. All our Engineers are home based.
